SLAM Ready to RUMBLE, Open Season in KC
ByThe St. Louis SLAM women’s professional full contact football team is set to open its 7th season on Saturday night, April 18th,
against cross-state rivals, the Kansas City Storm. The SLAM is coming off of a successful 2008 season in which they finished the regular season undefeated at 8-0 and advanced to the second round of the playoffs.
The SLAM is returning a number of experienced veterans, including 2008 leading tacklers, Kelly Kozlen, Tiara Pettis, and Frenchy Gelis-Diaz; leading rusher, Pat Riggins; top league receivers, Gail Graff and Chris Hampton; and quarterback Liz Lacy. The SLAM will take on a Kansas City team that they went 2-0 against in 2008.
The first SLAM home game is Saturday, May 16th, 2009, against the Iowa Thunder. Kick off is set for 7:00pm at Oakville High School. Tickets are $10, $8 for seniors, $5 for children.
